Ann Stringfellow
Since my first “paint-by-number” horse pictures, my creative juices have flowed in many directions – landscape quilting, building rock sculptures, painting with plants (some people call it gardening). Eventually I graduated to oils and the plein air approach of landscape painting outdoors, in real time… replete with bugs that get stuck in your paint, bake or freeze temperatures, and wind gusts that often blow out your umbrella. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am a member of the Friday Painters, the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners, and the Looking Glass Collective, and have participated in a number of local art shows, including the Mancos BurroFest (really a hoot!).
