2024 Paint Out Schedule

Barbara Tobin Klema

REMINDERS & NOTES:

Critiques: Unless otherwise noted, critiques for all paint outs will be held at 1:00 pm at the stated critique location. Please note there is a suggested "Critique Topic" for each paint out, which will be addressed during the critique.

Assignments for hosts and some co-hosts were made based upon previous hosting or requests for specific paint-outs. Please check through the schedule to see if you were assigned as a host. If you were assigned to host a paint out and you would be unable to attend on that date, please help us by finding a replacement host to take your place.

One additional Saturday paint-out and two weekend paint-outs are scheduled for this year.

Changes to scheduled paint outs: Scheduled paint outs typically will not be canceled or changed except in the case of an unforeseen circumstance that disallows access (such as a scheduled area being closed or weather prevents access). In cases such as this, the host may move the paint out to another location. In this event, please  provide as much notice as possible.

Hosts or Co-Hosts:
1. Send an email reminder about your paint out within three to five days of when it is scheduled.
2. Hosts, please notify the group if participation at your paint out is restricted to a maximum number of painters due to limited parking availability (since there will likely be no car-pooling), or whether he or she chooses to invoke indoor Covid-19 restrictions as defined above.
3. Please send a list of paint out attendees to Lori Walters at loriwaltersabc@gmail.com for record keeping. Attendees, if for some reason you attend a paint out and the host is unable to attend for some unforeseen circumstance, please email Lori (loriwaltersabc@gmail.com) that you attended the scheduled paint out, so it will count towards our requirements of three paint outs per year for each member.
4. If possible, send photos of everyone's paintings (with artists' permission) via email to Barbara Klema (crimsonsageartyoga@hotmail.com) for inclusion in the monthly newsletter.

Most of all – have fun this year! Looking forward to seeing everyone doing what we so enjoy, painting nature!

On behalf of the 2024 steering committee: Linda Bonds, Debbie Clay, Maryellen Morrow, Barbara Tobin Klema and Lori Walters

FROM ROD:

Hello Painters,

I have been trying to find the way to send the photos of the Airbnb's from Taos, but it just seems easier to tell you how to access the choices.

1. If you go to airbnb.com, page 6, 15th image, this is a newly built house in Taos, 3 bedrooms 2 bath. The Master bedroom has a king bed, the other two bedrooms share a bathroom, and are queen beds. $169 per night.

2. Same, go to airbnb.com, page 13, 10th image, this house is also new construction and is NW of Taos on Blueberry Hill, in El Prado. 3 bedrooms, 2 bath. Carlos and I are staying in the Master bedroom in this house, which has the master bath, there are two additional bedrooms with queen beds that share a bathroom. $179 per night.
(We stayed here recently for two nights and it was very comfortable, radiant heated floors, and furnished beautifully, with a full kitchen with all utensils, etc. also beautiful mountain views. (This is where we would have our critiques), unless we choose something else when we are there.

However many people stay in one house, up to 3 couples, or 3 individuals (count Carlos & me as a couple=2 people), the rent can be divided by how many people are in the house. ie - if 4 people total are staying in the El Prado house, the rent would be $179 divided by 4 = $45. plus sales tax. However, if there are 3 staying in this house, the third one can have the master, and Carlos and I will take the other two bedrooms.

There are also many more airbnb's on this site, so you can choose anything you want, but please let me know how many are planning to go to the paintout.

If anyone has not been to Taos, and wants to see photos let me know, there are dozens of great things to paint there...and we are not limited to certain sites.

I highly recommend these two homes, because they are new and really gorgeous with heated floors.
