I love to paint pretty pictures; it is as simple as that. I like the feel of a brush on canvas, or to watch a watercolor come to life out of an initial light wash of color.
Plein air painting is a whole new set of experiences: hot sun, soft breezes, or hard wind, leaves swirling around the easel, rain drops racing to wet you down while you race to get all the gear into shelter… and sometimes a disappointing painting and sometimes one you feel could go into an art show.
All art is a fascinating endeavor where one never stops learning.
