Carolyn Dailey

Utah artist Carolyn Dailey paints to express her vision of the land and its people. A plein air oil painter, Carolyn exclusively works outdoors from nature to capture the beauty and light of the landscape. She sets up her easel throughout the mountains and deserts of the Southwest and on her international travels. Peaceful and serene, her paintings bring a glimpse of spirit and wonder to the busy modern world. Carolyn has been a full-time professional artist since 1987. Winning art contests as a child, her primary training using oils in the plein air tradition was by workshop study at the Fechin Institute in Taos with Mark Daily, Michael Lynch and Ned Jacobs and privately with Frank LaLumia. She has participated in numerous one woman and group shows in the United States and Guatemala where she lived for 16 years, including a one-woman show at the national Ixchel Museum in Guatemala City. Since returning to the states she has exhibited in shows in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah where she currently resides in Moab. Her paintings frequently win top awards in juried shows and she has been invited to participate in the prestigious Plein Air Rockies. Carolyn often exhibits as the Guest Artist of the Month at Gallery Moab where she had a show this past July. This year she also is exhibiting again with two artist friends at The Bighorn Gallery at Dead Horse Point State Park near Moab during September and October 2018.
